2009: Dr. McQuiggan

2009 Dr. Carol McQuiggan Co-Founded the Faculty Center for Teaching & Instructional Technology

While working as a senior instructional designer at Penn State Harrisburg, Dr. Carol McQuiggan also co-founded and became director of the Faculty Center for Teaching & Instructional Technology on campus, which supports 300+ full- and part-time faculty.

In her roles at Penn State Harrisburg, she planned and implemented symposia, workshops, and other faculty professional development opportunities; lead faculty development projects, coordinated efforts with other instructional designers within the Penn State system; designed and developed web-enhanced, blended, hybrid, and online courses; and provided support and leadership in all of the above-mentioned roles.

Her passion for faculty professional development for online teaching shows, and others have noticed: she earned the 2014 Staff Service Award, the 2015 Kathryn Towns Award for demonstrating commitment to heightening the awareness of issues and concerns having an impact on women, and the 2016 Rosemary Schraer Mentoring Award, just to name a few.

She has also served as a co-chair in 2014-2015 for the Penn State Commission for Women.
