Advanced Instrumentation, Diagnostics and Controls for Applications in Turbomachinery  (AIDCAT-2022)

Penn State University

May 22-24, 2022

University Park, Pennsylvania, USA

The technical session program is now available for download: Technical Session Program

Motivated by the importance of modern experimental methods, system diagnostics and control, sensor technology, and large data sets and their processing, in turbomachinery design, we are hosting the 1st International Conference on Advanced Instrumentation, Diagnostics and Controls for Applications in Turbomachinery (AIDCAT-2022), at Penn State University, from May 22-24, 2022.

The focus of the conference is on the latest developments and needs in aero-thermodynamics, heat-transfer, performance, control, and health monitoring measurement technologies for turbomachinery, including gas, steam and hybrid turbine compressor systems, including modern supercritical cycles. Our intent is to bring together the international community in a focused technical exchange environment.

We are also excited to announce that AIDCAT-2022 will be the co-located site for the 2022 Propulsion Instrumentation Working Group (PIWG) Spring Meeting. The connection of AIDCAT and PIWG will bring together a broad community of users, developers, vendors, and OEMs addressing complex problems through unique solutions.

AIDCAT-2022 will comprise oral and poster presentations, plenary and keynote talks of selected outstanding contributions/contributors, and roundtable discussions. There will be no manuscripts. We will also be holding a number of tours at various Penn State Gas Turbine experimental facilities: START/ExCCL, Combustion Labs, and the Penn State steam plant showcasing a new Solar Turbines Taurus 70.

The organizers are particularly supportive of, and encourage attendance and abstract submission by individuals in groups underrepresented in science and engineering (e.g., underrepresented minorities, women, and persons with disabilities).

We are looking forward to seeing you there!
