Introduction and Overview

Welcome to Penn State’s Ancient + Modern: Landscape Modeling Lab.

The lab is an evolving collective of faculty, graduate students and undergraduate students at Penn State investigating creative applications of geospatial tools for analysis, design and planning. Emerging out of the Department of Landscape Architecture and the Stuckeman School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture, the research is focused on landscape change, modeling and anthropological archaeology. The majority of our work centers on long term landscape change and in particular an emphasis on cultural landscapes.

I started the lab simply as a means to organize our diverse work and provide some access to our interdisciplinary efforts. The links at the top of the page provide access to home pages where more information about each project can be found.

All the best,

Tim
