Teaching

Since Fall 2011, I have worked as a teaching assistant in the PSU Dept. of Astronomy & Astrophysics. Beyond the usual duties of grading and undergraduate tutoring, I have served as instructor of record for six sections of ASTRO 11, an elementary astronomy laboratory class for non-majors (click here for a copy of my most recent syllabus). More details of my teaching experience and training can be found in my CV.

I have drafted a statement of teaching philosophy which can be downloaded in PDF format here.

I am working to complete the PSU Graduate School Teaching Certificate; one of the requirements of the certificate is to develop a website which includes evidence of ability to produce a PowerPoint-style presentation. Toward that end, I have posted a copy of the slides used in a class presentation on network analysis (PHYS 580, Fall 2012, PSU): download here.
