As my last blog post comes to an end I am very bitter sweet. As tedious as these posts were, being able to write about shoes, something I am so passionate about, was a blessing.

Shoes can make or break an outfit. If there is one thing I hope I got across in this blog it is that. Shoes can add a pop of color or print or some sparkle. Even for boys the perfect Sperry or Nike sneaker can really grab the attention of any girl.

I also hope my blog showed everyone that you can find any shoe at any price. At the beginning of the year I started off by writing about high fashion shoes most of us can only fantasize about. This was to show my passion for the ART of shoes not just the fashion. These shoes in my eye could be in a museum for their beauty not just worn down the street. As second semester came about I decided to switch my focus to the practicality of shoes. Ones just right for the weather or that fit into your budget perfectly. I hope some people got some pointers on great websites that they can find shoes on!

I really just want to thank Robin for the opportunity to write this blog and everyone for actually taking the time to read it. I am constantly at shoe stores and online admiring these works of art. Being able to share my passion and love for shoes with anyone besides my mom really was a blessing.

Sometimes people feel guilty having so many pairs of shoes- I know I do! We often take for-granted all that we have and are given in our lives. People around the world and in nations like Africa even in America can’t even afford to have one pair of shoes. Can you imagine that? Not having shoes to walk around in. TOMS shoes are canvas shoes that opened in 2006. What makes them different than other brands? For every pair of shoes brought, TOMS gives a pair of shoes to impoverished children. How amazing is that? No need to feel guilty buying one or more pairs of these! Every pair you buy you are able to also give a pair to a child in need. The countries to which the free products are sent have included Argentina, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Haiti, Rwanda, South Africa, and the United States.

Over the past 7 years TOMS business has grown into more than just a shoe company but also to selling eyewear and clothing! The best part about this? They keep up their “One for One” campaign by donating clothes and eyewear also to impoverished children.

TOMS shoes are a great spring to summer shoe! They are made out of canvass fabric which makes them very light and airy. They are perfect for keeping your feet nice and cool during the hot weather and long walks to class! They also come in so many different colors and patterns. The best part of all of this? They are made for men, women and kids !

This past weekend I was sick laying in bed flipping between watching E! News, Style Network and TLC (obviously). I thought I knew every single show on those channels, but I was surprised to find a new one on Style Network that I had never seen before! Kimora: House of Fab is a new show that has just aired on Style Network. The show follows fashion guru Kimora Lee Simmons on her newest project, JustFab shoe website! It is an entertaining show that follows her co-workers as they work with different designers, take pictures for the website and create shoes. This clearly lead to one thing I could do the rest of the day- shop on JustFab.com of course!

JustFab shoes follow the exact name that they have- they are just fabulous! When you log onto the website it is kind of like Shoe Dazzle (a previous blog post i wrote). You log in and answer questions on your style so they can customize your page. They add and recommend different shoes based on your choices when logging in!

The shoes on JustFab are shoes for any girl with any sense of style! They even have all different kinds of celebrities who pick there “top picks” of shoes for the month! This month features Avril Lavigne and her choice of hot pink peep toe heels with silver spikes on them.  Celebrities choose their shoes that best suite their style and that shoes defiantly says Avril!

JustFab is also very price friendly!! Once again this is perfect sight for college girls in need of the perfect going out shoes! Over the past two weeks we have gotten a couple of glimmering moments of spring shining through all of the rain and snow clouds. The sun radiating through the clouds and the sweat forming within our hunter rain boots. This only means one thing to me and I could not be more excited for it! Its time to break out the ballet slippers!!!

Personally, I do not enjoy wearing sneakers unless it is to the gym or on a hike up Mount Nittany. It’s not that I have anything against them, I just don’t particularly love the way they look with a cute dress or skinny jeans. When it is spring time though, you can’t break out your sandals just yet. It’s an awkward fashion transition from boots to flip flops that some people just don’t know how to handle. The solution to this so you don’t have to sweat in your uggs or freeze in your sandals when you get the weather wrong is ballet slippers!

Although there are so many different brands that make adorable ballet slippers, some of my personal favorites are Dolce Vita. Dolce Vita is Italian for “beautiful life”. The name could not be more appropriate since they have such BEAUTIFUL shoes. Although Dolce Vita makes all kinds of shoes and clothes, there flats are some of my favorites!

Dolce Vita ballet flats come in all different colors and styles. They have thousands of different prints, come with studs on them, some are classy others are wild. The reason I love them so much and recommend them to everyone and even took the time to write this post about them is because I believe any person with any style can find there perfect pair from this brand. Although they can be a little pricey ( some over $100) they really are worth every penny! I have had a pari of mine for 3 years now and still always get compliments on them every time I wear them out!

So for those girls who are in need of the perfect spring flats now that the season is upon us, save up and buy a pair from Dolce Vita! I swear you won’t regret it!!!

With the spring approaching us (hopefully) and being stuck in a winter that seems to be never ending, it’s hard to figure out what type of shoe to wear for this awkward season. Some days I can leave my dorm in cute flats or sneakers, other days I need snow or rain boots. Since the weather is unpredictable, the type of shoes we need for it is as well. This is when you need to venture out of the world of brands with specific types of shoes, and onto websites and into stores that have EVERYTHING. These stores are my shoe heaven.

In these stores you can find any shoe, any style, any color within one store, its like magic! One of my favorite stores is DSW shoes. It is HUGE on Long Island, there are many branches in different towns and the stores are huge, some even two or more floors of just shoes! Another reason why DSW is so fantastic is its prices. The most expensive shoes do not reach over $150 and the cheapest can be up to $20!! This allows anyone and everyone to find their perfect shoe in their price range.

DSW shoes also just created a new website. The website sells women’s, mens, and children’s shoes and e]very category for each wether it be sandals, flats, sneakers, heels, boots, winter time apparel, and more.

The reason I think this website it perfect for everyone is because you can find any type of shoe you can imagine. When I was prom shopping, I went to DSW for my prom shoes because they had dressy heels that come in every color and every heel height. This allowed me to almost customize a pair of shoes without the price and hassle of it all.

DSW is a great store if you can find it in your area! Although it is huge and could possibly take hours to go through, it is so much fun and worth the experience! The new website though can allow anyone in any state or college to shop and enjoy the experience and variety of DSW shoes !

If you look around lately at not only at women’s but men’s feet you see one new obsession spreading like wild fire for people with all types of style! Sperry’s! These boat shoes you normally would think would to see only in preppy areas, but now has spread to all types of areas as a great fashion accessory!

Sperry Top-Sider is the original brand of boat shoe  designed in 1935 by Paul Sperry, older brother of Armstrong Sperry. The Top-Siders were the first boat shoes introduced into the boating market. Although they started out as boating shoes, they have now transformed into a fashion statement. In 2009 Sperry Top-Sider was named the number one brand in America! They have become more of a fashion statement rather than a boat shoe in contemporary society. With a booming of sales recently, Sperry Top-Sider has started to create their famous boat shoes in all different colors and even added prints to the women’s collection! Well this seems like the most versatile and perfect shoe ever! These shoes are Converse sneakers!

Marquis Mills Converse, who was previously a respected manager at a footwear-manufacturing firm, opened the Converse Rubber Shoe Company in Malden, Massachusetts in February 1908. The company’s main turning point came in 1917 when the Converse All-Star basketball shoe was introduced. In 1921, a basketball player named Charles H. “Chuck” Taylor walked into Converse complaining of sore feet. Converse gave him a job working as a salesman and ambassador. He promoted the basketball sneakers around the United States and the Converse brand became known by all!

Today, Converse is not known for making basketball sneakers anymore. Instead, they are commonly used and known as skateboarding sneakers. They even sponsor skateboarding programs for kids who wear their sneakers and use them in competitions.

Although Converse may have started as basketball sneakers and turned into skateboarding sneakers, they are now worn by everyone, whether they are an athlete or not. Converse sneakers are classic and can really be worn with any outfit and by anyone. They are versatile, cute and comfy! What more can you ask for?

With temperatures falling day by day, most of us will do anything possible in State College to stay warm. Wether it be layering multiple pairs of socks and sweaters or bundling up in a hat, gloves and scarf while going to class. One thing my Yaya (Greek for grandma) always told me was to always keep my feet warm and the rest of my body will be too. If this is true we need to make sure to bundle our feet up and keep them as warm as possible on these cold winter days!

Lately, I have been on a workout craze. Every time I go to the gym though there is one thing that bothers me more than the smell. The fashion! It is more disgusting than the sweating football players on the treadmill. Most people come in with these shoes that look like they should be in the garbage, not out in public. That is why this week I decided to show some affordable sneakers that you can work out in and not feel embarrassed to walk out of your dorm room!

Adidas is a German sneaker company that was founded in 1948. Adolf Dassler was the creator of Adidas after him and his brother split their previous sneaker company and then created Adidas and Puma, two rival sneaker companies.

Adidas doesn’t just sell sneakers though, they sell accessories and clothing as well. You can tell if you are buying something from Adidas if you see three bars, this is their signature symbol.
