Bai Lab is interested in studying the relation between chromatin and gene expression at single cell / single molecule level by using a combination of biophysical, biochemical, genetics and computational methods. The goal of our lab is to identify sequence and chromatin features that affect the level, noise and dynamics of gene expression; to understand how these chromatin features are established and characterize their cell-to-cell variability and dynamic changes; and finally, to explore how these molecular processes affect cell phenotypes.
We are seeking capable and self-motivated undergraduate students, Ph.D. candidates and postdocs who are interested in the cross disciplinary field of biophysics. Candidates with backgrounds in biology / physics / math / engineering are welcome to apply.
