LION STEM Program at Berks

The LION STEM Scholars program is a four-year scholars program (renewable scholarship & college success program) for students who start their Penn State education at the Berks campus. This program supports the successful completion of an engineering degree at Penn State among talented domestic students with demonstrated financial need.

Program Benefits:

  • Up to $6,250 per year four-year renewable scholarship
  • Four-week residential engineering bridge program (June 30-July 26, 2024) to prepare for the rigor of college-level STEM courses.
  • Four-year multi-tiered mentoring program
  • Four-year cohort experience (including First Year Seminar and STEM Persistence Seminar)
  • Four years of co-curricular enrichment activities focused on professional communication, financial literacy, career readiness, undergraduate research & community engagement.

 This research project is funded by the National Science Foundation to study ways to help engineering and STEM students be successful in college. As part of our evaluation of the program we will ask you about your academic and professional growth during college and track your progress at Penn State by accessing your educational record.
