Last week you may have noticed a new link titled, ? Reader, in the admin bar at the top of your Sites Dashboard. Reader turns the Sites at Penn State network into a community by adding Tumblr and WordPress.com -style “❤️ Follow” features. Also, if you are an instructor who currently uses the Tag Search (aka Penn State Voices), Reader is the replacement for this tool.

Follow Your Favorites

Reader adds a “Follow” button to the admin bar on every site in the Sites at Penn State network. You can click on the “Follow” button to add your favorite blogs to your Reader.

Engage with content from across the entire Sites at Penn State network from your dashboard.

Tag Search

Reader also replaces the Tag Search (aka Penn State Voices) site-wide tag search (typically used in courses). You can now search for a course or assignment tag from your Reader dashboard and follow the blogs of all your students/classmates. Note that the tag search also produces an RSS Feed icon RSS Feed that you can use with any feed reader of your choice.

IMPORTANT: The Penn State Voices blog will be retired within the coming Fall Semester. It’s functionality has been replaced with the Reader. If you are an instructor utilizing the Explore page for your course and have any questions please contact the Sites at Penn State team.
