ground fresh

black peppercorns
are just like black people really-
flavorful, intense, aromatic, delicious, multicolored…
they’re also ground up into itty bitty pieces until they’ve lost just enough of themselves to be considered palatable
because let’s face it-
a mouth full of black peppercorns is dangerous to white teeth and pink gums
but for some reason, their taste buds crave the spice
so they break down the exterior until gray powder is all that remains.
