ACT 48 for Teachers in Pennsylvania:
CALPER partnered with the Pennsylvania Central Intermediate Unit #10 to provide ACT 48 continuing hours for teachers who wish to receive them. In order to keep the general registration costs of the workshops as low as possible, teachers requesting ACT 48 hours pay a $10 processing fee. When on campus, please have your 7-digit Professional Identification Number (PPID) ready. The Department of Education stipulates that teachers seeking ACT 48 hours must be in attendance for the ENTIRE length of the workshop and that participants who arrive late or leave early will not be eligible to receive the hours.
Workshop 1: L1 Use in the Language Classroom – 12hrs
Workshop 2: Teaching Social Meaning in Language – 12hrs
Workshop 3: L2 Vocabulary Teaching and Learning – 6hrs
Workshop 4: Chinese Program and Curriculum Design – 12hrs
Participation Certificates – Continuing Professional Development Hours
All educators who attend any of the workshops in full will receive a certificate at the end of the last day of the workshop. Teachers from other states should check with their state department of education if it will accept the certificate and grant professional development hours.
