With the help of other individuals they changed a horrible wall on the building into a painting of the words, “before I die…” following a blank space for individuals in the community to fill it in with their future dreams. Many of the responses were filled with rhetoric, and the pathos of the project had a passionate attraction on individuals that was tremendously robust to the point that it expanded into a universal public discourse. The overall project was to demonstrate that individuals can become close as a community, society, and a whole and how pushing projects leads to individuals being able to share their thoughts and views. This experiment shows that one little saying or line can turn into numerous voices being heard. Candy Chang establishes when presenting public discourse we are able to find a mutual viewpoint by focusing on certain subjects such as death.
