The Powertrain and Drivetrain Team

The Powertrain and Drivetrain team’s objective is to design and fabricate the various components that revolve around our engine choice. These elements include the air delivery, fuel delivery, exhaust, cooling system and differential. Together we will work in conjunction with the chassis sub-team to develop these systems within the frame design. Our main focus will be fitting an existing motor into the chassis, such as the CBR600RR motorcycle engine. When taking an existing engine and retrofitting it to a custom built chassis, there are numerous hurdles to overcome. Therefore, our challenge is to develop the powertrain system to function and comply with the FSAE rulebook while applying the engineering principles we learn from the classroom to real life practice.
