The Office

I feel that any good TV blog would not be complete without mentioning The Office. This show is such a classic and is probably my favorite TV show of all time. I also do not think I have ever met a person that watched this show and did not love it. The only people that do not like The Office just haven’t seen it yet! If that describes you my question is what are you waiting for?

office funnyThe Office is the brainchild of the one and only Ricky Gervais who actually starred as the boss, Michael Scott in the British version of the show. I have actually watched some of the British version and I honestly do not think that it is as good. The humor is much more the British style dry humor, which is great but not as compelling as the American version. For those of you that have seen both, do you agree with me on this? I have gotten into some pretty heated arguments about this with my friends before.

Anyway… lets move on to more about the show itself. The show revolves around characters who work at a paper company called Dunder Mifflin. Despite the fact that they have probably the most boring job ever, they all find ways to have fun and create meaningful relationships. Also despite the fact that their boss, Michael Scott, is completely incompetent. I don’t know about the rest of you, but if something that I’m watching gets awkward for characters I feel the residual awkwardness. That most certainly happens a lot while watching this, particularly when Michael is involved. Of course all the characters are super lovable…okay maybe not all of them (*cough cough Angela cough*) and it is super easy to get very invested in their lives. Have I mentioned yet that this show is hilarious?? From having a fun run for rabies awareness to hosting office Olympic games, this show will always guarantee a laugh. I have found it particularly good destressor whenever I have a lot work, which can often lead to procrastination but I think its worth it.

goodbye michael

Michael Scott (played by Steve Carell) leaves towards the end of the 7th season, but the show still goes on for 2 more seasons after that. Carell thought it was the natural move for the character and that is why he chose to leave the show. Goodbye Michael will never fail to make me cry because you can see the genuine emotion of the actors as Carell leaves the show. Unpopular opinion alert! I still definitely find that the last two seasons were enjoyable to watch. Obviously they are not as good as the seasons that do have Michael, but I definitely think they are better than people make it out to be.

Fun Fact: The Office can basically supply you with any reaction gif you could ever need. Also, if you ever want a laugh but do not have the time to invest in a full episode of the show, I highly recommend looking up the bloopers on YouTube. They are absolutely hilarious and it is great to see more of a behind the scenes look at the show and the dynamic of the actors.

I absolutely agree with you that this show is a MUST SEE! I didn’t even know about the British version because I was so enthralled by the American one. I think that Dwight may be my favorite character because of how quirky he is. Life lessons and good laughs were taught by The Office.

I LOVE The Office. It is honestly one of the best shows I have ever seen and I have seen the entire series twice through. I was actually one of those people who binge-watched it and I am pretty sure I finished the entire series within three weeks. I was just so addicted to it! I do actually agree with your opinion that after Michael left, the show was still great to watch! There were so many points in the show that could not hold back tears from laughing so hard. I love this show so much and I just hope everyone eventually has the pleasure of watching it all the way through!

I have never seen the office either and my friends absolutely despise me for it! My boyfriend, my roommate, and three of our best friends love watching the show and I just haven’t gotten around to trying it. Honestly, I don’t usually enjoy typical comedies but I would love to give the Office a shot and see how it is!

I could go on and on about how much I love this show! The writers are genius! I also love how the cast is so heavily involved in the writing, producing and directing of the show. Michael Scott is one of the most ridiculous sitcom characters out there but that’s what I love about him. This show provides endless laughs!

Yessss! The Office is definitely one of my favorite shows. I am definitely biased because I am from Scranton, but I honestly think I would love it regardless. It is funny because no one ever heard of Scranton until the show and now whenever I say where I am from everyone asks about it. The cast actually came to Scranton before the final season and there was a huge parade for them. My favorite episode is definitely the one when Dwight sets the office on fire just to test their fire safety plan. It never gets old.

I have never seen The Office (it’s on my list of shows to watch, don’t worry), but my dad absolutely loves the show! He grew up in Scranton, he and my mom went to school in Scranton, and we’re from outside Scranton, so he thinks it’s hilarious to see the show taking place in his hometown. Every once in a while he’ll pause the show and say to my mom, “they’re at (insert unpopular location in Scranton here), can you believe that?!”
