A recent article written by Cathleen Decker in the L.A. Times addresses the topic of Donald Trump’s demeanor regarding his attempt to run for presidency of the United States. The Republican Party is concerned with their image as Trump fills all the negative stereotypes that the political party has been trying to disassociate themselves from in recent years. From his past statements about John McCain not being a true American hero and the questioning of President Obama’s birthplace to his more common faux pas with his racial comments about immigrants in America from Mexico he perpetually brings a negative view on the Republican Party of which he affiliates with. At this point he is doing more damage to the Party’s image than benefits. Although this doesn’t show him in a positive light he is receiving the attention of the American public, which isn’t an easy task. In his defense, if what you’re doing is working, why quit? Personally, I tend to find myself side more with the Republican Party on many issues. That being said, I would not give my support to Donald Trump. I believe that a man running for a prestigious job that represents a country such as president should not be receiving his attention via racial remarks and bad publicity. Although, I can understand why he does what he does from a strategic point of view. I understand that getting the public to pay attention to your ideas can be one of the hardest parts of a political campaign and despite how he gets it he does manage to get our attention. We will all be witness to see if his strategy can pass the test of time…

This was well written and I like how you incorporated your own opinions into your entry. I agree that Donald Trump should get much more serious and professional if he plans on being a true contender in this election.
