Fearnbach receives two awards for ACSM Annual Meeting
Fearnbach’s abstract, titled Individual Differences in Post-exercise Ad Libitum Energy Intake in Children, received the Student Research Award from the ACSM Nutrition Interest Group. She also received a Student Travel Award from the World Congress on the Basic Science of Energy Balance.
In this abstract, Fearnbach describes the associations between perceived exertion during exercise and children’s post-exercise food intake. Generally, she and her co-authors found that children who rated a controlled bout of exercise as more difficult ate more total calories over the course of that exercise day.
Fearnbach will present these findings during a poster session on “Energy Balance: Innovative Approaches” on Wednesday June 1st.
