Consortium for the Study of Leadership and Ethics in Education (CSLEE)
CSLEE is an international program center of the University Council for Educational Administration (UCEA). Originally named the Center for the Study of Leadership and Ethics (CSLE), the program center was established in 1996 by Dr. Paul Begley. Under Dr. Begley’s leadership the CSLEE has grown to include eight research centers located at universities in five countries: Australia; Canada; Hong Kong, China; Sweden; and the United States. Faculty and students associated with each of these institutions have been long-standing and active contributors to the CSLEE, leading to numerous publications and events (including the annual CSLEE Values and Leadership Conference) centering on values, education, and leadership. Paul Begley serves as the current CSLEE Executive Director and Michael D. Burroughs serves as the CSLEE Associate Director.
Rock Ethics Institute
The Rock Ethics Institute was founded in 2001 through a $5 million gift from Doug and Julie Rock to the Department of Philosophy and the College of the Liberal Arts at Penn State. The mission of the Rock Ethics Institute is to promote ethical awareness and inquiry across the University, and in the public and professional sectors, through a three-fold emphasis on teaching, research, and outreach.
