Welcome! I am currently an Associate Professor of Public Policy and Administration and Program Chair of the Masters in Public Administration program at Penn State Harrisburg’s School of Public Affairs. I also direct the PSH Policy Process Lab and am a 2023-24 Richard P. Nathan Public Policy Fellow with the Rockefeller Institute of Government. I was previously an Assistant Professor of Public Administration and Political Science at Stockton University.  In 2015, I received my Ph.D. in political science from the Pennsylvania State University. I have also studied at Elizabethtown College, where I earned a B.A. in Political Science (2008), and Villanova University, where I completed an M.A. in Political Science (2009).

I am also a member of the Scholars Strategy Network, Penn State’s Consortium on Substance Abuse and Addiction, and an Affiliate Researcher with Penn State’s Institutes of Energy and Environment and the Social Science Research Institute. I serve on the review board of SCORE: Systematizing Confidence in Open Research and Evidence. Those in the cannabis industry can also find me on LeafWire.

I have been a long Twitter user, but am increasingly using my Blue Sky account. Connect with me there.

The primary purpose of this site is to build community with my students, collaborators, and scholars at large. It is primarily a forum for discussing research and providing teaching resources for my students and colleagues. I also have a blog – States of Knowledge – that receives periodic attention.

I would love to connect via e-mail or social media for the purposes of discussing ideas and developing collaborations.
