I am an Associate Professor of Communication Arts and Sciences at Penn State York. Previously, I was on the faculty at Southern Methodist University. I earned my doctorate from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

I teach courses in communication theory, conflict and negotiation, crisis management, group decision-making, and public relations.

In my published research, I study the communication competencies of call center agents. Currently, I am looking at how call centers use interactive voice bots in their inbound and outbound operations. I have also written about organizations’ employee crisis response strategies and how the Federal Government uses cell broadcast technologies to communicate imminent weather threats to the public.

My consulting practice focuses primarily on employee communication issues in organizations. Some of the large organizations that I have worked with include American Airlines, the British Met office, and General Electric Global Research. I have also partnered with a Japanese-owned Maquiladora in Mexico and two multinational call center providers.

I am an officer in the Pennsylvania Communication Association. On campus, my faculty colleagues recently elected me as Chair-Elect of our senate.

In my free time, I spend my summers in Fraser, CO, where I enjoy fly fishing. I am also an avid golfer.
