On Wednesday, October 17th, Sylvia Neely of the Citizen’s Climate Lobby State College Chapter came to speak to members at our weekly meeting held at the Stuckeman Family Building.
Sylvia presented members with the objectives of a Carbon fee and dividend and explained the CCL’s hopes of integrating this into the governmental system. This bi-partisan organization is a national nonpartisan grassroots advocacy organization that seeks to address policies on climate change.
Eco Action members were able to learn more about the lobbying process and participate in writing letters to congress to share their concerns about climate change. Sylvia’s talk generated great interest and discussion amongst members and familiarized members to different forms of activism and awareness generating methods of engagement.
