Projects

Fall 2017:

Plant for the Planet – We are partnering with Ferguson Elementary to teach children about environmental issues and help them carryout environmental action. This will be a year long project that culminates in a large tree planting event in the spring.

Toll Brothers Protest – We are working with the Nittany Valley Water Coalition to protect the State College drinking water by protesting the new proposed development on Whitehall Road.

The Climate Reality Project Conference – We will be attending the Climate Reality Project conference in October in Pittsburgh.

Citizen’s Climate Lobby (CCL) – We are partnering with CCL to learn about climate change communication, policy, and effective lobbying. In November, we will take a group of students to Washington DC to lobby congress with CCL.

Homecoming Float – We are constructing a homecoming float made from recycled plastic and pulled by bikes.

Volunteering – This semester we will be volunteering at Black Moshannon State Park, Shaver’s Creek, the Student Farm, and many other places.

Student Sustainability Fee – We will be working with the Student Fee Board to allocate some Student Fee Money towards sustainable initiatives under the directive of the Students Sustainability Advisory Council.
