About Us

Corey Capooci

I am a freshman Engineering student at the Pennsylvania State University.  I hail from Jessup, Pennsylvania which located in the northeast corner of the state by the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area.  I graduated from Valley View High School and while in high school I enjoyed playing many sports from soccer to table tennis.  I want to blog about education reform because I believe that times have changed and that our high school education system has not adapted to the times, I hope to mainly write about educational politics and why we have been seeing less focus on the advancement of high school education.

I am a freshman Criminology major from Manassas, Virginia. I was homeschooled from fourth grade until I graduated high school and enjoy volunteering, reading, and eating. Because of my unique schooling experience, I have a different perspective on the public education system. I would like to focus my posts in this blog on what parts of a homeschooling education are most effective and discuss how we could implement them into the public schools.

I am a freshman Math and Finance major from Lebanon, Pennsylvania. We have Lebanon bologna (which I never eat) and that’s about it. Relating to my major, I expect to provide a lot of insight on where our math system is failing, and where it is succeeding. From the perspective of a finance major, I also see the value in exposing our high school students to more college majors, so that the college students of America can make more informed decisions on their field of study. I tend to hold the view that we can always do better when it comes to education.

I am a freshman from State College, Pennsylvania, double-majoring in English and Psychology. I attended Our Lady of Victory Catholic School for elementary school and middle school, and I graduated with the rank of Salutatorian. I graduated from State College Area High School in 2014 as a National Merit Finalist. I live at home with my parents and my three younger brothers. The topic of education reform is one that interests me very much, and the aspects of it that appeal to me most, and which I will mostly be blogging about, are the debate on public school vs. private school vs, homeschooling, and which books should be required reading in school.

I am a music education major from Lafayette Hill, PA, near Philadelphia. My main instrument is flute, but I also play piano, saxophone, vibraphone and I sing. Marching band is my favorite musical ensemble, and I hope to be a high school band director some day. I also love literature and history. My posts will be about music education, kind of a no-brainer, and I hope to speak up to the importance of the presence of music education in our schools.
