SAP – Student Interest Group

The Enterprise Integration efforts at Penn State are not limited to just faculty & researchers. The strong student involvement in the SAP program facilitated by the Consortium for Digital Enterprises is evident at the SAP Student Interest Group.

Capitalizing on the immense increase in Enterprise Integration and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, the SAP Student Interest Group was formed to unify & facilitate students who want to learn more about SAP (a leading ERP systems & solutions provider). Penn State’s involvement with SAP began in 1998 when SAP donated more that $1 million worth of their ERP software package, SAP R/3 to Penn State. Unisys followed this offer with a hardware grant of 4 high-end servers to be used as platforms for the SAP software.

Student members are granted access to the SAP software to learn its use. The Group also organizes tutorial sessions for the systems, industry speakers , etc.

Student Membership

Illustrating the broad interest in the field, student membership ranges from undergraduates to graduate students across many departments.
