My initial impressions about working in the archives are curiosity and apprehension. I feel that it will be really cool since I haven’t done anything like it before and it will be cool to see what things come up in my search. I especially wonder about the objects that have been kept and the significance they carry. Story: A dinner with the other half of my family promptly made me realize the effect a place can have on people. Throughout the course of the dinner I began to pick up on how backwards the town was in which my father and his parents lived. I picked up on how the people treated each other, their attitudes and also the nuances of speech.
