The Archives …

My initial impressions about working in the archives are curiosity and apprehension. I feel that it will be really cool since I haven’t done anything like it before and it will be cool to see what things come up in my search. I especially wonder about the objects that have been kept and the significance they carry. I’m also apprehensive about working in the archive since there is a time constraint and I don’t have much of a direction as of yet. I feel that I could spend most of my time learning about different things pertaining to a topic and then I may have to scramble at the end to put...

Is This What Happens?

Story: A dinner with the other half of my family promptly made me realize the effect a place can have on people. Throughout the course of the dinner I began to pick up on how backwards the town was in which my father and his parents lived. The desire to drop the jaws of the audience is obvious as the song describes “blue tree tops and velvet skies, blue ready to blow your mind.”...

Definition Proposal

They need to understand what this term really means so that they can either step up to the plate and undertake the responsibility they’ve been given or so that they can consider what it really means to be a parental figure before deciding to become one. This piece would be put into a magazine so as to hit the audience of parents in order to affirm what they’ve been doing in that capacity or make them realize that they have...
