Laboratory Statement

The overall research objective of the Exercise Psychology Laboratory (EPL) at The Pennsylvania State University is to understand how to motivate people to engage in physical activity. We have ongoing studies to develop and test behavioral interventions to promote physical activity and healthy eating behaviors in an effort to achieve adequate weight gain in pregnancy, longitudinally study the psychobiological determinants and outcomes of exercise behavior during the preconceptional, prenatal, and postpartum periods, and continually validate the Exercise Dependence Scale.
