Understand theoretically-driven, motivational determinants of exercise behavior in an effort to develop effective and efficient behavioral interventions for exercise promotion and adherence. We focus mainly on women and children, however, other populations (young adults, older adults, etc.) have been a target of laboratory studies and student research projects. Also studied are topics such as gestational weight gain, weight status, body image, depression, and exercise dependence.
