Happy Halloween, everyone!
In celebration of my favorite holiday, here is a spooky specimen from the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History (NHMUK). It was collected “On Sedge” on October 31st, 1943.
This is the female holotype specimen of Synarsis dressei, a species described by Paul Dessart in 1991. It even has a characteristic elongated head that reminds me of a cartoon ghost. What do you think?
