Well, last week and this week were a bit of a bust for sort day. Poor weather, school cancellations, etc. Arrrrrggh. I did manage to sneak in a bit of spider sorting, all from Pennsylvania localities and some of which were super cool. One of them was this critter:
This species is the first mygalomorph I’ve seen in my sorting of Pennsylvania spiders. I’d show you a pic of the male I found from a pitfall trap near Harrisburg, but it wouldn’t be nearly as cool (nor as dramatic) as this photo by Vijay Somalinga I found on Flickr. There definitely will be more focus on these spider specimens (>1,000 vials!) in the near future!
