Hello, my name is Glenn Johnson and I am the author of this site. I am currently senior lecturer and instructional designer in the Department of Statistics at Penn State University.
Blogs like this one are good at capturing shapshots, ideas, implications, events, challenges, best practices – all of these are pieces of a puzzle about teaching and learning that we are continually trying to better understand. My intention is to use this blog to put out the pieces that I see or an working with on this blog-like ‘table’ in hopes that we all might have a better idea of what we are working with – me included! If there is a piece to this puzzle that I have not come across, please let me know!
I see three important areas where what we do can impact learning; within the academic program home, the co-curricular experiences outside of the classroom and the technology infrastructure that supports learning and collaboration. I encourage everyone to collect, analyze and evaluate evidence in each of these areas that influences how we teach and how our students learn.
