Contributing to ‘Web Style Guide’ @ Yale University Press
I am very happy to have made a small contribution to a very large publication. The 4th Edition of Web Style Guide, Foundations of User Experience Design (Yale University Press, Patrick J. Teaching & Research @ Penn State University
As a faculty member in the College of Information Sciences and Technology at Penn State University, I teach many courses related to building with web technology. I focus on leading languages, software and methods that scale up to the demands of the assembled web that users expect across any number of mobile devices and platforms. In the contemporary world, every environment is a web environment and users expect a beautiful and personal experience.
I also use these technologies in National Science Foundation funded research projects across different Penn Sate institutes and colleges working to discover and implement new ways to augment scientific collaboration, development, and teaching across the planet.

Sr. Web Usability Consultant with EGS
I am proud to be a part of the growing intellectual community at the European Graduate School. With the main campus in beautiful Saas-fee, Switzerland and a new campus in Malta, this important academic institution continues to make beneficial and necessary impressions on the world. My role at EGS is to advise and consult with the web team that builds www.egs.edu.
Teaching Open Source Web Building in Tokyo
In the Spring of 2013 I traveled to Japan offering a short course and workshop for the students of Ochanomizu University. I also authored a faculty development seminar for the faculty of the university, hosted by the Center for Research in Education. Also, I was asked to give the keynote address at the Plone Education Symposium Tokyo which is part of the annual Open Source Conference Japan at Mesei University also in Tokyo, hosted by the Plone Users Group Japan. It was quite an adventure, full of great people, places, and learning opportunities.
