Career Services is presenting another round of workshops, for basic career development skills, in case you have missed them before, or not felt ready or the need to attend previously. Although our staff is always here to help you, even after graduation, we believe that you are in charge of your career and job search. We want to prepare you for what will probably be a life-long process.
The vast majority of workers no longer work for a single employer their whole working lives. More and more people are changing careers, not just jobs, and statistics vary as to how many times or how often they tend to change.
So come to our “Resume Writing” workshop (schedule below) to brush up on the essentials of how to put together a resume (for beginners) or how to polish your existing one. In either case, your resume needs to showcase your relevant skills and accomplishments, to make yourself seen as a candidate who can add value to the employing organization.
And how do you get your resume in front of hiring managers? What resources can you use?
What other job search documents might you need? Our “Job and Internship Search Strategies” workshop is designed to answer those questions and more.
There is no magic bullet. Job searches are taking longer in this economy, so there is no time like the present to get started.
