Sleep

Woman Turning Off Alarm

As a college student, you need to make sleep a priority.  Sound impossible?  Busy schedules, all-nighters and too much caffeine can all wreck havoc on your sleep schedule, and not getting enough sleep can lead to bigger problems, like weight gain and memory trouble.   If this sounds like you, you’re not alone.  Over half of Penn State students (59.5%) reported that they felt tired, dragged out, or sleepy during the day at least 3 or more days in the past week. [Source: Penn State University’s ACHA National College Health Assessment, Spring 2012]

So what should you be aiming for?  As an adult, you need 7-9 hours of sleep each night.

Check back here for tips on how to achieve those recommended hours.  Or, stop into 20 IM Building for a sleep kit to set you on your way.
