It’s no surprise that college can be a stressful time for students. Compared with high school, courses are more difficult and require more studying. Your social calendar is busy with organizations and friends, and on top of it all, you’re living on your own and have a whole new list of responsibilities. It’s no wonder 53.8% of Penn State students reported feeling overwhelmed by all they had to do in the past 2 weeks (Source: Penn State University’s ACHA National College Health Assessment, Spring 2012).
Managing your stress doesn’t come easy for everyone. In fact, many people control stress with relaxation techniques, including meditation, mindfulness, tai chi, and yoga. Even something as simple as a walk outdoors or a pickup game with friends can be relaxing.

Health Promotion and Wellness offers free Yoga on Wednesdays 4-5pm in 205 Student Health Center. Classes will be offered May 17 – August 9.
