Our First CHSOS –

Simulation Technologist Hans Hinssen has become the first person at Hershey to obtain the status of Certified Healthcare Simulation Operation Specialist (CHSOS). Hans passed the rigorous examination to obtain the Society for Simulation in Healthcare CHSOS credential.

Research Grant Opportunities –

Two new internal (PSU and MSHMC only) research grant program have been unveiled to help support simulation-based educational research.  In one program, four $2,500 grants are available to support many aspects of simulation-based research. In the other program, five $1,000 grants are available for travel support to disseminate simulation-based research at conferences. Application instructions can be found on our Research web page.

IMSH Recap –

The Penn State Hershey Clinical Simulation Center was well represented again at the International Meeting on Simulation in Healthcare held in Los Angeles in January. Nine Penn State Hershey faculty and staff attended the conference and Penn State Hershey simulation faculty conducted or contributed to 11 presentations and workshops.

Website Anniversary –

2017 was the first full year of operation for our new website. 5,644 unique users visited the site 9,265 times with 18,813 page views. While the United States was the source for most visitors, the site also had an international draw: Brazil (376 visits), United Kingdom (235), South Korea (235), Philippines (188), India (188), Spain (94), Australia (47), and Canada (47).

2017 Annual Report –

The newest edition of the Clinical Simulation Center Annual Report is now available on our Home Page. This report details our 2017 activity and features several significant programs conducted in the Center over the past year. The report is available as either a PDF file or in Flash format. Print copies will be available soon in the Simulation Center.
