Members of the Kijenzi team take to the streets of Kisumu in search of local technology-friendly businesses. The team is creating a map of the technology-focused small businesses in the city, scouting for locations that might be interested and capable of accommodating a 3-D printer in the near future. Kijenzi is finding local entrepreneurs with the capacity to act as middlemen between customers and medical centers, to serve as production centers for 3-D printed medical devices.
On their search, team members bump into eclectic local shopkeepers, a brass band on the street, and innumerable other fixtures of life in Kisumu. Each of the locations identified by the team will be revisited, this time with a short presentation detailing Kijenzi’s goal of introducing 3-D printing technology at a small-business level.
