The HPAM Laboratory (room 240 of the Leonhard Building) is 605 square feet. Two sound-proof human subject testing rooms, each 64 feet square, are shared by all the human factors labs to conduct experiments under highly controlled conditions.

Software:

  • Versions of Aegis Simulation Platform (ASP) which are used by multiple institutions to conduct human-in-the-loop studies of human cognition in command-and-control environments. (single-user code, PowerPoint presentation)
  • Speech recognition (SR) clients which use the professional-grade Nuance SR software to integrate speech into the ASP simulation platform (3)

Research tools developed by laboratory personnel:

  • discrete event simulations
  • evolutionary computation algorithms
  • opportunistic reasoning techniques
  • performance-based decision making models.

Other:

  • X-box (1)
  • Kinect (1)
  • Eye trackers
