The HR Community gathers for an all-staff event, which includes the following topics:
- Mary Beahm, interim vice president for human resources, shares a variety of organizational updates and key takeaways, including the announcement of the Phase 2 Moving Day, which is scheduled for December 4, 2017.
- In her role as a consultant, Elizabeth King shares her insights and strategies for a successful HR Business Process Transformation.
- Additional updates for the HR Community include Workday, HR training, and HR Shared Services.

Phase 1 Move-In Day is finally here! A total of 56 HR staff members from the following teams move into the first floor:
- Data and Onboarding
- Recruiting and Sourcing (Part-time)
- Talent Acquisition (Full-time)
- Talent Management
- HR Information Technology
The Welcome Center and the New Employee Center are also located on the first floor and will be open for use near the end of July 2017.
Additionally, the full implementation of the new HR teams and reporting structures takes effect, which coincides with the Phase 1 move.

The HR Community gathers for a town hall event, which includes the following topics:
- The interior design of the 331 Building in Innovation Park is revealed, including colors, flooring, design layout, and more. Click here to see the design renderings.
- Susan Basso, vice president for human resources, shares the newly developed mission and vision statements for Penn State Human Resources. Click here to read the new statements.

HR offices across the University participate in an office clean-out initiative. The cleaning and purging of unneeded equipment and documents helps prepare many HR staff for their upcoming move to the new 331 Building in Innovation Park.

The HR Community gathers for a town hall event focused on the importance of the year ahead. The day features a guest speaker, an organizational design update, a snapshot of the 2017 HR Community Learning plan, a WorkLion demonstration, and a Shared Services Center update.
Other items of importance from the town hall include:
- The desk chairs for the new building are revealed. The selection is based on the votes of many individuals who will work in the office. Click here to see the new chairs.

Various dates in 2016
Benchmarking trips were taken to Starbucks, North Carolina State University, TIAA, and Steelcase, in addition to visiting various buildings across the University. These benchmarking efforts will help inform the workspace designs and collaboration spaces in the new HR Shared Services Center. Update presentations are given to various leaders across the University including David Gray, senior vice president for Finance and Business, and the Business Decision Body. These presentations include past, present, and future work for the various Shared Services sub-teams.

The Shared Services Flow team sends out a Personal Workspace Survey to the members of the HR Community who will work in the new Shared Services Center. The goal of the survey is to help inform decisions regarding furniture and workspace design. Results can be viewed here.
