Research Summary
Use molecular dynamic simulation to better understand the lithium ion transport in solid state electrolytes. For the purpose of reducing the impact of anions, we fixed the anion to the poly(ethane oxide) backbone. Hopefully clearer picture of Lithium ion mechanism can be revealed by studying such simplified system.

Lithium ion battery is dominating the portable devices market because of its high energy density. By using solid state electrolytes, Lithium ion batteries can be made much thinner and more flexible. The impedance keeps solid state lithium ion batteries from commercialization is low conductivity of its electrolytes at room temperature.
