PENN STATE MEDICAL HUMANITIES SCHOLARS COLLOQUIUM

The Department of Humanities and the Doctors Kienle Center for Humanistic Medicine of the Penn State College of Medicine sponsored a one-week summer colloquium for scholars and medical educators from the humanities disciplines (broadly defined, including visual and performing arts and social sciences).
The colloquium was limited to 6 participants whose research proposals were selected from among 28 national and international submissions, all dealing with some aspect of medical humanities. While in Hershey, scholars worked with mentors to refine their research plans. Over the subsequent year they have the opportunity to continue working with mentors in completing their projects. Scholarships covering all expenses were funded by the Doctors Kienle Center for Humanistic Medicine.
