Hello world and welcome to my blog!
My name is Lawrence Green which alludes to the name of my blog, both the URL and blog title. You know, if you sound out my name phonetically it sounds like lauh-rinse. Get it? Then “I Am Green” reminded me of “I Am Groot” from one of my favorite movies Guardians of the Galaxy. Anyway, now that I have explained the name of my blog we’re already best friends.
I am currently a freshman at The Pennsylvania State University!
PSU is going to be my home for the next four years and I cannot be happier to call this populous, sprawling community my home. Notice how I’ve said community? PSU obviously is not just a campus and during my next few years I really look forward to getting to know my peers through clubs, sports, and other activities and making friendships to last a lifetime!
Now the point of this blog is to get you to know a bit more about me. I have created this blog for my Rhetoric and Civic Life class and it will include two series: my passion post series and my Rhetoric and Civic Life (RCL) post series.
For my passion post series I have decided to focus on something we all need to survive: food! However, I am going to stray away from the typical pizza and burgers and instead focus on more ethnic or lesser known foods that I have tried during my eighteen years of life. Food not only gives people the nutrition they need to function, but it also gives us insight into other cultures and traditions and gives us a taste of their lives, literally! Expect to see these posts weekly.
My RCL post series will be biweekly and prompted by my professor. As you can tell through the title of the course, these posts should generally be driven by civic engagement and topics to improve my own rhetoric.
Now that you have learned about me and my blog, sit back, relax, and enjoy the blog! Feel free to comment and join in on my tastes of the world!
