What does Council mean to you?

As we wrap up the Spring 2011 semester, Council members have two opportunities to reflect on their involvement with our group.  First, we held our Spring Retreat on April 17.  After some icebreakers, we settled down to the business of goal setting.  We though about what we did well and what needed improvement in four areas:  internal service, external service, fundraising/publicity, and function of the group.  Then, we brainstormed goals and ideas for Council as we move forward next year.  We now have an extensive list of ideas for the future, which highlights the dedication that Council members show for leadership and service.

Spring 2011 RetreatSecond, we will hold our Spring Reception on April 29.  This is a chance to celebrate the passion and hard work of Council members.  It is also a chance to reflect on Council’s accomplishments this year.  In the spirit of reflection, I’d like to ask Council members to answer the following question:

What impact has Council had on you and your organization?

Please comment on this entry with your answer.  I look forward to reading your answers!

  1. Council is a great place to share ideas about service and to see that there are so many students on campus that want to make a difference in the community and in the world. Council is also an excellent tool for us service leaders. When I have an issue and I’m not exactly sure how to go about solving it, I can easily bring it to Council and we can come up with solutions as a group. It connects many different service organizations and makes us all better in the end.
