Officer Transition

In our last Council meeting, students were prompted to brainstorm how to facilitate an effective officer transition in their organization.  Then, the top three ideas from Council were chosen (bolded below):

1.       introduce new officers to current outside contacts

2.       molding them to the position even before apply

3.       Walk through key places–logistics: “show them the ropes” (e.g. introduce members to HUB reservations)

4.       new officers interview the old officers

5.       have transition meetings, incl:

a.       outline of all duties/responsibilities/events

b.      electronic files

c.      meeting with the adviser and old officers

6.       passing on contact list (not just service, but EVERYTHING)

7.       pass on sample documents for things officers need (e.g. a sample permit to sell downtown)

8.       make a new e-mail prior to or upon graduating
