Club Spotlight: Global Medical Brigades!
Interested in medicine, helping others, or volunteering? Find your place here in Global Medical Brigades. Global Brigades is a popular club here at Penn State. As a member of this club you can help fundraise money and volunteer to help benefit more than 130,ooo Honduran and Panamanian, Ghanaian, and Nicaraguan community ever year.

Penn Staters of all majors join Global Brigades – there are many different sectors that make up this organization. Club member, Anna Gebhardt, is involved in the public health and medical sectors. As a Pre-Med member she uses this opportunity to help others as well as get real medical experience.
“Global Medical Brigades develops sustainable health initiatives and provides relief where there is limited access to healthcare.”
This last year, Anna and other club members fundraised and worked at the Bryce Jordan Center in order to raise enough money for medicine and supplies. With those supplies, they were able to get a group of volunteers to travel to Honduras, Panama, and Nicaragua. They worked with doctors from the host country as well as from the U.S.A to hold clinics for local people of the rural areas. The Penn State family is dedicated to helping others, join us!
