My name is Camisha Prince and I am a senior from Brooklyn, NY. I am a Broadcast Journalism major and Theatre minor. What makes a different from a lot of students that go here is that I didn’t start at University Park for my first two years of college. I started at the Penn State Schuylkill, one of the Commonwealth Campuses in the Penn State system. I was able to participate in the 2+2 program and transfer to University Park for my junior and senior years. During my time here, I’ve been in 2 musicals and I’m part of the dance team AMBITIONS.
Just like many of you are right now, I was in high school and the college process for me was extremely nerve-wrecking. I was unsure of what I wanted to major in, what goals I wanted to accomplish, and what I wanted to do with my life. Thanks to the advisors in the Division of Undergraduate Studies, I was able to find my niche and find something that interested me. Since then I’ve gotten the opportunity to do some really neat things. Penn State provided me with connections that made me able to be on the football field for game days, meet head football coach James Franklin, be a production assistant for ESPN Gameday, and this semester I’m going to Panama for international reporting.
My entire journey here at Penn State is one that I will never forget. I’ve laugh, cried, and grown as a person going to school here. The experiences that I will take with me on graduation day will be with me forever. My freshman year roommate became my best friend and I’ve met some of the best mentors here. I’m more than sure that you can have the same experience here and even better!
