Can I request direct access via ODBC to the LionPATH data warehouse?
Direct access to the LionPATH data warehouse is not being granted due to the complexity of the warehouse. The recommended solution for obtaining the data will be via LionPATH subject areas within iTwo.
What are some advantages of iTwo?
iTwo is a user friendly tool with drag and drop capabilities. Also, users don’t have to worry about joining multiple tables together in order to get the correct results; table joins are already done behind the scenes.
What if LionPATH subject areas in iTwo will not meet my data needs?
Send an email to ProjectLionPATH@psu.edu and the LionPATH team will work with you to determine the best solution to meet your needs.

How do I request access to view the graduate and undergraduate admissions dashboard? I have a legitimate educational need to see this information.

How often will the new LionPATH data warehouse be updated?
Data will be updated nightly.
Will it be beneficial to have access to iTwo?
Yes, it will be beneficial for you to have access to iTwo if you need to view reports or access data. The primary method of accessing reports, dashboards and data will be via iTwo. We strongly recommend taking iTwo training to become familiar with accessing and generating reports.
Do I need access to the data warehouse to take iTwo training?
Access to the Data Warehouse is not needed to take iTwo training. If you do not already have iTwo access, temporary access will be given for a short period of time to those taking training.
Will I see both the old and new values in iTwo?
Based on your security access, within iTwo, you will be able to view all of the dashboards and reports that access the existing data warehouse, and you will be able to view the new dashboards and reports that are created from LionPATH. You will also be able to create your own reports. However, you will not be able to mix or view the old values and new values in iTwo together in a single report.
Will the reporting team help build iTwo dashboards and reports to replace what offices and departments are doing now to generate reports?
Offices that currently use the existing data warehouse will need to create new reports to replace their reports and processes. They may also have to commit resources and time to this effort. The Reporting/Data Warehouse team will work with offices to ensure that they have access to the information that they need. There will be some initial reports available, but the actual development of specific reports may be the responsibility of the individual offices.
Will information from Talisma go into iTwo?
Talisma data is not scheduled to be available in iTwo. Only data coming from the existing data warehouse or the LionPATH data warehouse will be available in iTwo. Talisma data is not in either warehouse.
Will everyone have access to PS (PeopleSoft) Queries in LionPATH?
Access to PS Queries will be determined by a person’s role and data access within LionPATH. This means that not everyone will have access to run PS Queries.
Can anyone build PS Queries?
The ability to create or build PS Queries against the LionPATH system will be limited. The criteria for having this ability has not been determined yet, but will be shortly. Regardless of whether an individual is given access or not, they will not be able to write and run PS Queries on the fly. Every PS Query will go through a development process and be reviewed and tested before being put into the production database to ensure it does not interfere with system performance.
Will real-time queries run against the LionPATH system, or the LionPATH data warehouse?
Real time queries will run against the LionPATH system.
Will reports have the ability to be filtered?
Many PS Queries against LionPATH will have drop down selection boxes to filter results. Similarly, iTwo reports will also have drop down selections to do the same. These filters are easily customizable.
Can I schedule queries and have them downloaded to my desktop automatically?
You can schedule any PS Queries to which you have security access to run automatically. However, they are not downloaded automatically to your desktop. Similarly, reports on iTwo can be scheduled to run automatically. Like PS Queries though, they will not automatically be downloaded to your desktop.
