Dr. Xiao Liu is the principal investigator of the Multimodal and Computational Neuroimaging Laboratory (MCNL). Dr. Liu received his undergraduate and master degrees from Beijing University in China. He received his Ph.D. training from the Center for Magnetic Resonance Research (CMRR) and completed his degree in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Minnesota. After this, he joined the Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Center at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) as a postdoctoral fellow. He joined the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the Penn State University in August of 2016 as an Assistant Professor.

Yifan Yang is a PhD student in the Bioengineering program at Penn State. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Automation from Tianjin University and Master degree in Electrical Engineering from Penn State, respectively. His past research was focused on machine learning and data mining.

Yibing Yang is a PhD student in the Biomedical Engineering program at Penn State in August 2021. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology. She also received her Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Florida. Her past research was focused on the analysis of human EEG signals and the development of rehabilitation software. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, traveling, and music.

Xufu Liu is a PhD student in the Biomedical Engineering program at Penn State in August 2021. He will earn his Bachelor of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering at Chongqing University. His past research was focused on protein detection based on image texture and the fuzzy neural network. He likes traveling, photography and doing exercise.

My name is Nattaporn Plub-in. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Kasetsart University in Thailand. In 2019, I earned a scholarship from the Royal Thai government to continue my master and doctoral studies in the field of Biomedical Engineering. My past research area was to study human brain networks via EEG data.

Baizhou Pan is a PhD student in the Biomedical Engineering program at Penn State in August 2022. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from Tianjin University and his Master of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from Northwestern University, respectively. His past research was focused on cognitive neuroscience, traumatic brain injuries, and the analysis of EEG signals. Neuroimaging and computational neuroscience will be his future research area. Soccer, cardistry, and board game are his way to relax in his spare time.

Yutong Mao is a PhD student in the BME program at Penn State. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Wuhan University and his Master degree in Electrical Engineering from Penn State, respectively. His past research was focused on computer vision, and he became fascinated by the inner workings of the brain. He is a big fan of triathlon in his free time.
