Tangled

Disney’s Tangled is another of its more modern hits based loosely off the classic fairy tale of Rapunzel. Mandy Moore, who some of you may remember from A Walk to Remember, voices Rapunzel and does a pretty fantastic job with Rapunzel’s songs as well. I wouldn’t say that they’re the deepest songs in the world, but they’re certainly fun and very well done. i also really envy Rapunzel’s productivity and never-ending motivation thoughout this movie.  If I could ever be as productive and efficient as Rapunzel is in “When Will my Life Begin” then I would have so much free time I almost wouldn’t know what to do with myself! The movie also features some other interesting characters like the charming, but mysterious Flynn Rider and the crazy, devious step mother figure Mother Gothel. As is common in most Disney movies, there’s also some spunky animals like Pascal the Chameleon and Maximus the Horse to add the the cute factor of the movie. There’s also a decent amount of Hidden Mickey’s in this movie!

I must admit, I didn’t find any of these Hidden Mickey’s in Tangled while I was watching it, but of course I hopped on FindingMickey and there they all were cleverly hidden in plain sight. Quite a few hidden mickey heads pop up in different places in the movie such as in the queen’s necklace in the portrait of her and the king, in the reflection of some paint jars from Rapunzel’s art box, and in some barrels that Rapunzel and Flynn Rider walk past in the secret passage from the Snuggly Duckling. There’s also a ton of hidden references to other Disney movies such as Pinnocchio showing up in the Snuggly Duckling during “I’ve Got a Dream” and the Spinning Wheel from Sleeping Beauty showing up in Rapunzel’s tower. For more of these clever little hidden moments, just visit the website I linked to! To sum up, Tangled is a really cute movie and very well animated as well so I’d definitely suggest watching it if you have the opportunity.

Until next time!

There’s actually an interesting disney theory that connects Tangled with Frozen and the Little Mermaid. It says that Elsa’s parents from Frozen were traveling to the wedding in tangled when their ship went down in the ocean. There’s also a sunken ship in the Little Mermaid that has a striking resemblance to the one in Frozen. The theory is an interesting read if you want to google it.

I absolutely love this movie!! I agree that most of the songs in the more recent Disney movies are not as deep as those from earlier generations. I think that now they may be aiming for more catchy tunes that people will want to listen to apart from the film, rather than necessarily portraying the greatest meaning.

I remember watching Tangled awhile ago, and I thought that it was so cute. I am still failing miserably at catching the hidden mickeys in Disney movies, but the finding mickey website really helps with that. Great suggestion, and you’re totally right, the soundtrack isn’t very deep but I think that the songs are cute and light-hearted for a young audience.

Nice post! I haven’t watched Tangled in a long time but I remember thinking it was a very cute movie. I love Disney movies! They are just so happy, fun, and relaxing to watch a countless number of times. My roommates and I were just watching Frozen and we were trying to find the hidden characters from Tangled placed in the scenes. I think it is so cool that Disney places characters from older movies in the newer ones. I love the challenge of trying to watch for the hidden characters!

Tangled is one of my favorite Disney movies! I love the characters and I really like the way they retold the story of Rapunzel. I also think it’s really neat how Disney always hides Mickeys in their movies, even though I never think to look for them. Sometimes I find it hard to sit through animated movies but I definitely did not have that problem with Tangled, it’s such a good movie and of course Disney always does a great job!

I really don’t remember Tangled at all, but I know that I really do like the music. Still, in my opinion, it’s not one of my favorite Disney movies. It just doesn’t seem to be as meaningful, and it kind of reminds me of the plot of Anastasia, and nothing can be as good as Anastasia, even though it wasn’t made by Disney so she can’t be considered a Disney princess. But I really do love the part at the end with the lanterns.

My friend and I have had arguments over this movie, mainly that it is better or worse than How to Train Your Dragon. I didn’t catch a few of the mickeys but I saw most of them after watching it again. Disney movies are always great.
