On August 6th, Jon Stewart said goodbye to the Daily Show, where he had been host for the past 16 seasons. Stewart pandered to his left-wing leaning audience with numerous shots at Fox news and Republican congressmen. Stewarts impact on his viewers went beyond a few laughs. He actually got people interested in political current events. Providing real news for his viewers, he gave people insight of current events, while making humor of it. I have enjoyed his rant on all of the Washington stupidity for years, and I will miss his satirical remarks. My article specifically highlights Stewart’s last episode, where he said goodbye to his loving audience in a big reunion of former cast members and guests. Among the people invited include: Bruce Springsteen, Ed Helms, Louis C.K., and Stephen Colbert. The article shows people’s love for stewart by including a quote from Barack Obama. He jokingly told Mr. Stewart: “I’m issuing a new executive order that Jon Stewart cannot leave the show. It’s being challenged in the courts.” Even after people’s disaproval of him leaving, he was comfortable with leaving. While interviewing his friend and fellow comedian Denis Leary on Wednesday, Stewart said he was comfortable with his decision to step down.“When you do something that you know you will never be as good at something as you were at this, you have to make peace with it,” Mr. Stewart said. “And I’ve made peace with it.” Jon Stewart may be leaving the show behind, but his impact will still be felt for years to come with more informed young voters.
