The AV-III-500 is equipped with three RF channels suitable for triple resonance experiments a triple resonance TCI cryoprobe (1H/13C/15N/2H) with single axis gradient, with enhanced sensitivity for 1H and 13C.

In addition to the cryoprobe, several RT probes are also available. AV-III-500 is heavily used for biological NMR 2D and 3D experiments for, the study of complex biomolecules. This instrument, as well as the AV-III-600 and AV-III-850, is capable of running Non Uniform Sampling (NUS) experiments reducing the time barrier for high dimensionality NMR spectroscopy. Thus, it is particularly useful for these experiments in biomolecular NMR, where time savings of 4x in 3D experiments or 10x and even more in 4D experiments can be achieved.
