CAPTAIN WAYNE WALL

CAPT Wall was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and graduated from Auburn University in  1994 with a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering. He also earned a Master’s in Business Administration from Brenau University in 2000. He is currently serving as the Commanding Officer of Trident Training Facility, Kings Bay, Georgia where he is responsible for the training of Atlantic Fleet Trident (SSBN) and Guided Missile (SSGN) submarine crews.

His submarine experience includes both SSBN and SSGN submarines. He most recently served as Commanding Officer, USS WYOMING (SSBN 742)(BLUE). Prior to that, he was the Executive Officer in USS FLORIDA (SSGN 728)(GOLD), where he completed two deployments. A career submarine officer, his other at-sea assignments include: Division Officer in USS PENNSYLVANIA (SSBN 735)(GOLD) and Navigator in USS WEST VIRGINIA (SSBN 736)(BLUE).

Shore assignments include Trident Training Facility, Kings Bay, Georgia (COMCONEX Instructor), where he was responsible for the training of Atlantic Fleet SSBN crews in Strategic Warfare and was selected as the Officer Instructor of the Year for 2001, and COMSUBRON 16/20 Squadron Operations Officer, where he was responsible for the training and mentorship of Atlantic Fleet SSBN Navigation/Operations Officers. CAPT Wall also completed a joint tour while serving as Branch Chief of the Non-Kinetic Planning Division of Joint Functional Component Command for Global Strike at U.S. Strategic Command. He was Deputy for Training at COMSUBRON 20 where he was responsible for the training and mentorship of over 30 Atlantic Fleet SSBN  commanding Officers and Executive Officers, as well as a staff of over 35 hand-selected Squadron staff members. CAPT Wall took command of the Pennsylvania State University’s Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) and assumed duties as the Professor of Naval Science in August 2019.

CAPT Wall has been awarded the Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (two awards),  he Navy Commendation Medal (five awards), the Navy Achievement Medal (five awards), and various other personal and unit awards to include the 2015 USSTRATCOM Omaha Trophy award and four Battle Efficiency ‘E’ awards with the most recent in 2015.
