Meeting Minutes Jan 22, 2014

Hey All! 

Here’s a recap of what happened last night in Outing Club!
 
Upcoming Trips
 
Benji and Dimitri Backpacking (Friday 24th-Sunday 26th)
-15 to 20 miles in Bald Eagle State Park 
-There is still some space and the trip can really use drivers
-It will be rad, cold, mountainous, snowy…and there will be cheese. 
 
Kayak Sesh (Feb. and March)
-Training sessions at the nat that teach you basic skills like how to roll and navigate with a possible trip at the end. 
-They are fo free but sign up fast cause they fill up quick
-There will be more information to come at future
 meetings
 
Sam D’s Climbing
-Sam DeVries loves to climb and is willing to offer rides to the Y 
-Shoes and harnesses are free and its $3 to get in with your membership card
-climbing is Th 8-10pm, F 7-10 pm, and Sunday afternoon

Cambin Camping Reward (Feb 1-2) 
-If you went to stadium cleanup you should have gotten an email from Aaron. Make sure to RSVP by the date in the email. 
-If you didn’t get an email and did go on Stadium cleanup email Aaron.

-want a great summer job getting paid to be outside while helping freshman become adaptive to Penn State and making lifelong friendships? 
-If yes there are 3 programs for you
ORION (backpacking program. 3 week commitment) 
URSA (urban service in Philly1 week commitment)
Vega (western backpacking in Washington. Need to be on ORION leader first)

How to Join PSOC
-In order to go on trips you need to be a PSOC member
-To do this you need 3 things
-Copy of your insurance card (front and back)
-Membership form (can be found on our website)
-$20 dues (for trip fees, gas, food, ect)
-give these to Shaina and Meg at the meeting and your all set
-Any questions feel free to contact an officer
